Well I will say I am finding the Index Controllers with MOH to be not so great. They will like grab things when I have not even closed my hand good around them. And this shooting from the turrets to defend the Chatsworth Girl - not even sure I will be able to complete this part now. And I lowered it to easy setting LOL. Index controllers with MOH for lack of a better word just feels very clunky to me. Not precise at all. Not sure I will make it through a full play through with them. Which would be a shame as the game looks really nice in the Aero. Not touching the grab button, when you don't want to, can be tricky, especially when used to constantly grabbing other controllers - I do get that too with some games - can require much training. I'm also using CV1 and Touch with Medal of Honor, but mostly because many textures look much more low-res with no SDE to fool your brain, especially up-close. Ok will work on trying to make sure I do not grab the grab buttons unintentionally. Still not sure I can make it through Chatsworth Girl though, will try later today. Aiming and landing hits with the gun turrets is fairly complex. Lot of co-ordination has to happen at the same time.

I played through the whole game with the WMR inside out controllers and had no issues. Not sure what the problem was. While the Sniper wasn't the best feeling in the world, and the limited vision was kind of stupid...it worked well enough for me. This was at release though, maybe they broke something since?

Not sure it's an error, but due to OpenXR when using an Oculus hmd, you can start Hubris without starting Steam.
You completely bypass Steam.
This means the timer isn't running, and you can also stop auto-patching.
The game got a patch last week ruining the game - but devs were fast to roll back the patch.
I've now set the game to only patch when I launch the game, but since I'm invisible to Steam when using CV1 and OpenXR the game will now never patch. This suits me fine, the game works flawlessly, I don't need patches.
I've spent about 10 hours in the game, Steam says 55 minutes - when I tested with the Index.
It's really close to the most awesome VR game I've played - ever. But I'm European, I don't notice if the English voices could be better - but really love every moment of the game. There's quite a lot of motion capture in the game - this must have been quite expensive to develop. Gameplay really has much variation too.

Using Open XR along with Open Composite to bypass Steam VR is pretty popular in flight and racing sims that use Steam VR. Little better performance for the most part. MSFS 2020 though of course has native Open XR support and it is very good.

It means you could buy a game, spend like 30+ hours to complete it within 2 weeks and then refund. I guess we're talking about a so low number of games and users that Valve does not care enough...

Well if it is a Steam game you can not bypass running it through Steam, you can just bypass Steam VR and use Open XR via Open Composite. You are just switching the VR Runtime from Steam VR to Open XR. My two combat flight sims I got direct from developers not Steam. MSFS 2020 I got via Steam. And again - MSFS 2020 is the only one of my three that supports Open XR natively ( but is a Steam game). The other two I can use native Steam VR (which I currently do) or use Open XR via the Open Composite bridge should I desire. Neither of these two are Steam games. I still use Steam VR as I prefer it's simplicity. But a lot of fellow enthusiasts also use Open XR instead.

Hubris is a Steam game, but when I use OpenXR is seems to completely bypass Steam - could be a first. And my play time is not registered at all - could of course be an error. I can double-check if Steam auto-launches when I start the game - but Steam does not register that I start the game. There's a new patch waiting be be installed, when I launch the game, but after several launches it has not been installed - using Meta OpenXR I'm invisible to Steam it seems - might only work for Hubris...

Can't say I have seen that one before... Steam and Steam VR are two independent programs. I can run a non Steam game in Steam VR without any issue, however I can not run a game purchased through Steam without it going through Steam. If I launch it prior to having Steam running, Steam auto launches.

Just tested Hubris to be sure, so closed Steam, put on the CV1, and started Hubris - and Steam did not start.
So I'm playing a Steam game without Steam. This only makes sense if the devs integrated the full Oculus/Meta version in the Steam release. Somehow the game uses an exe file to start the game outside of Steam.
So with Hubris and a Meta hmd (might work for other hmds too), you're invisible to Steam.

I can't imagine buying a game from Steam and then Steam not running with it. I would lay odds it is. Oftentimes it launches with only an icon hidden in the taskbar showing it is running. Should be a small up arrow in right hand corner of task bar to show you additional running programs that are hidden. Now it could be using Oculus VR runtime but still the game is running through Steam ( not Steam VR). Understand Steam and Steam VR are very much different programs. Now if you purchased the game outside of Steam then that is another deal entirely. Zero of my Steam games can run without Steam running. But I can run games purchased outside of Steam without Steam running no problem, even if I am running Steam VR for them. Open XR bypasses Steam VR, not Steam itself. Open XR is not dependent on or require Steam. I just can not imagine a game being released on Steam that does not require Steam to run it. At least the Steam version. If so that would be a first for me. For example: IL-2 Great Battles - purchased direct from developer website - Runs without Steam running, but does use Steam VR runtime for VR. NO requirement to run Steam, Just Steam VR. IL-2 purchased from Steam - downloaded and updated through Steam, requires Steam to run the game. Always. Plus one can use native Steam VR with it , or Mod in Open XR using Open Composite. In either case, the game runs through Steam as it was purchased - through Steam.

Fully agree, this is a first for me too - I even took a picture of the taskbar where the Steam icon is gone. If Steam is closed, and you start a Steam game supporting native Oculus drivers, Steam will auto-launch and you can see that in the hmd. But closing Steam completely (not just minimizing it to the taskbar) it did not auto-launch with Hubris. Hubris also starts right away, no time for Steam to auto-launch, which takes some seconds. I thought about mentioning this to the devs, but I like the way it works now - allowing me to avoid patches. And after more than 10 hours, my playtime is still 55 min, lol (when using the Index). I've set the Oculus Desktop app to control all OpenXR, maybe it simply takes over everything... But I guess the devs just integrated the full Oculus version in the Steam release, and the Oculus Desktop app picked up the direct link - I get a nice Hubris icon in my Oculus library, just as if I bought the in the Meta Store. A few days ago the game also launched in the Rift Store.

Btw - here is Hubris running (red arrow) while I've totally closed Steam (no icon in the red circle): - and this room had me down to 30 fps - it's much bigger than I can show here (I'm standing on the ground looking up): Did I mention my new ride? - and met a new cool ... dude... Maybe not a cutie, but she gets things done
