Price is now only $24 on Steam (60% off) - reduced from $60. That's ok with me, I just bought the game again. Probably will not play it much, but gotta support VR AAA games ;-)

I've gotten slightly further, lol - meaning I installed the game 2 days ago, but still have not tried it :-) Same with Pixel Ripped 1995, only 10 bucks, it's installed too - maybe I'll find some time this evening..

Yeah you do way more variety of games than I ever would or likely ever will lol. Most of my focus is mainly on one. Not sure if that will ever change.

Just had the most amazing experience, really felt like driving a race car.
First I tried the CV1, but no-go with the Index connected, the game does not support native Meta drivers, only native Steam drivers are supported.
Then tried the Index with an Xbox controller, and the game simply worked flawlessly, after some fine-tuning. 90 Hz with motion smoothing and Ultra VR settings did not provide solid 90 fps, but close - then tried 80 Hz with no motion smoothing, and now the game suddenly was smooth as silk. The game no longer looked blurry, but nice and sharp - I did use SteamVR res 200% with the Index in addition to the highest in-game VR preset (Ultra).
Feels like I finally got the game I was dreaming of when F1 2022 launched this summer. What I just experienced was at least a 9/10, maybe even 9.5/10, truly awesome - at least for about $25.
Also I'm not into F1 racing in the real world - I have no clue if there are shortcomings for different drivers etc. - my rating only reflects how much enjoyment I had driving the racecar with an Xbox controller - and is affected by graphics, framerate, sound (awesome music btw - but this is an AAA game) and steering. For F1 die-hard fans the game may have issues or limitations unknown to me :-)

I so need to get that installed and have a run with it but just started today to learn the DCS Spitfire WWII bird and this of course in addition to my ongoing campaign flying in the Hornet and learning the Apache chopper. Not enough time in the day I will tell ya. The thing with racing sims is where they really shine is in multiplayer. And I have no desire any longer to do multiplayer, all single player for me.

I have only tested F1 2022 in singleplayer - the AI seems fine, or the usual stuff. I really never do multiplayer - unless it's local coop with the kids. I took some shots yesterday - will post some later. Really hard to make good shots using an XBox controller, had to enable an Index controllers and hold that one while using xbox controller to drive, lol. Btw, maybe I can post directly from Steam... Here we go - Index res 200%, no longer blurry - at all (highest VR graphics preset, mostly solid 80 fps using 80 Hz and no motion smoothing - but some levels need res 150/175%): Looking forward to more racing this evening :-) Works fine with the XBox controller, no need for the more heavy equipment :-) Also have HOTAS just for Star Wars Squadrons, but I really never use it, much easier just grabbing an XBox controller - and I keep forgetting the 40+ buttons on the HOTAS, sigh...

Btw, found out that the trick with F1 22 is to use "TAA with FidelityFX Sharpening" for antialiasing - everything else turns the game into a blurry mess. Especially DLSS is super-blurry.
