Yeah I likely would be all over a 4090 unfortunately, depending of course on whether one can actually get one in a reasonable amount of time.

If they can't produce any RTX30xx ranges through 2022 then how are they going to produce the RTX40xx cards. lol

500-600w seem out of control, especially in these green times, lol. Looking forward to the benchmark results first - as usual. Lone Echo 2 would be one game to benefit from a 4090, but with the Index and CV1 upgrading the 3090 will be a luxury and not needed in most games. Still thinking the PSVR2 path may look more interesting - if that's were new high-end VR games will arrive. I really have no interest in 2D games. I doubt that Nvidia can do a 100% jump in real-world gaming going from 3090 to 4090. Usually new Nvidia flagships have been about 30% faster than the old flagship. 3090 was sort of unprecedented giving nearly 50 - 60% more performance than the 2080 Ti: If I should change to a new card, it needs to be at least 100% faster than my 3090 - to be sure of lifting all 45 fps to 90... Not sure that'll take a 4090. 2c.

I only know of one shop over here selling an Asus 3060 Ti at MSRP - but you cannot order it. You can get a notification, and when in stock, the cards get released next day at 2PM - and then the early bird gets the worm. Several months later still no worm - the cards are gone in seconds, and I'm usually at work at 2 PM - and same goes for my friend. You can get a RTX 3060 Ti from other shops - but then the price is close to $1,000. So nice with new Series 40 cards, but still can't get Series 30... Btw, RTX 3090 is in stock - the cheapest one I can get today is the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 EAGLE OC for $ 2670 :-) My own card today is slightly more expensive than when I bought it - currently at $ 3050. So interesting with 4090... ;-)

Perhaps they have a priority arrangement.

Nvidia has rarely exceeded 50% increase between models so I likely will be sticking to my original plan of using my 3090 until 5080/5090.

Sometimes I wonder what would be the fastest video card if you're not allowed to use more than 200w... But still it does seem that Nvidia has succeeded in getting us more performance per watt:

Yea, I never cared about power. It could use 3000watts and I'd still leave it on 24 hours lol. First thing I do when I get a new PC is disable all the sleep and power saving stuff and set the GPU to maximum performance. I also leave it on 24/7 because I access it remotely a lot and annoys me when wake on lan doesn't work. For me, GPU power is all I care about.
That said, I agree they should have a line of cards marketed to that since more people care about that nowadays. An economy line or something. But a 200W card isn't likely to be competitive with a 600 watt card.
I live in a place in cheap power, but even when I lived in the city where the rates are 4 times higher than what I paid now... I still didn't care lol. I'll pay whatever it is. If power levels ever got to a point that it was too much to manage or the tyrants tried to limit me... I'd just install a dedicated solar panel system to it or something. Performance > all lol.

The horror...

So much for the 4070 Ti... Maybe...

Finally - Finally - I was able to snag a 4090 GPU wooohooo! Kept checking NowInStock and saw New Egg got some Asus cards in. Got added to cart - by time I got to entering payment info, bam they were gone. But I just kept at it in case others showed up, and saw they just also got some Gigabyte 4090 OC's in. And I got one baby, at MSRP of $1709! It will be here tomorrow from NewEgg. I chose overnight for that puppy I want it in my hands lol !!

Hubris devs say that the game should finally work with Aero this week, just in time ;-)
Just checked, cheapest RTX 4090 is $2160 over here, so enjoy the discount ;-) (Cheapest Asus Strix OC 4090 goes for $2680)

Got my hands pretty full with that one, even with me gaming several hours each day.

Very few own that hmd, and most may play sims - devs risk spending much time to sell 50 copies to Aero owners... Devs have been working with Varjo for weeks to get the game working with Aero and OpenXR. I really hope the devs get enough return on the time spent getting Aero to work. 2c.

I would expect they had likely done a cost/benefit analysis before proceeding. If not then that is on them. In any event they should be fine.
